Insight Enterprise, Inc, Peninsula Center for Independent Living, Africa America Disability Project (AADP) is a collaboration of disabled leaders in Africa and the United States working to establish consumer - directed disability programs in Africa that meet the unique needs of Africans with disabilities. The project is located at 202 - A - Cunningham Drive, Suite 2,Hampton,Virginia 23666.Its members consist of Africans and African-Americans with disabilities, located throughout the United States and several countries in Africa, who have a wide range of experience ranging from service delivery to program management, to the establishment of disability programs in America and aboard. AADP is established to affirm and conduct the practices of self determination for Africans with any kind of disability. It seeks to demonstrate that independent living programs are a wise investment for governments in the countries of Africa.
The Mission Of The AADP Is:
AADP seeks to involve other groups and organizations interested in working with people with disabilities in Africa, helping to improve the quality of life of persons with disabilities in various nations of Africa, and assisting governments to recognize the needs to establish policies and programs which will empower their disabled citizens.
